Navidad Música Maestro: SANTA BABY
Esta ha sido señalada como la
canción “más cara” de la Navidad, porque trata de una lista de regalos que va
desde yates, mansiones o joyas de Tiffanys.
El tema Santa Baby, fue escrito por la sobrina de Jacob Javits, el político más cercano a Nelson Rockefeller. La primera vez que se grabó fue el 6 de octubre de 1953,
por Eartha Kitt con Henri René and his orchestra, en New York;
y fue un éxito distribuido por RCA Victor y Emi. La regraba al año siguiente
para la película New Faces (dirigida por Harry
Horner), volviendo a
regrabarla para Kapp
Records en 1963, con otro arreglo o uptempo.
La versión reciente
más popular ha sido la de Madonna, una
chica “Material” en pleno apogeo cuando en 1987 usando el ultimo
arreglo usado por Kitt, incluyó la suya en el
álbum

Very Special Christmas. La seguirían las
versiones de Killie Minogue, Britney Spears y un cover tropical a cargo de Sheila E, incluida en el
