Navidad Música Maestro: JOY TO THE WORLD

Alegría para el mundo, ese anhelo de buenas intenciones, sería el titulo dado al himno de Navidad, Joy to the World, autoría del inglés Isaac Watts. Publicado en 1719, y basado en el Salmo 98, surgió como glorificación al hijo de Dios;  triunfante al final de los tiempos, más que como un canto de Navidad que celebra su nacimiento.

La música fue adaptada y arreglada por Lowell Mason, inspirado en temas de Georg Friedrick Handel; por tal razón firmó la partitura: By Hendel; y durante muchos años se pensó que la música era realmente del compositor alemán.

Muchos artistas de la era moderna han versionado este tema, tales como Percy Faith, Andy Williams, The Supremes, Boney M, Natalie Cole (dos veces) Mariah Carey, Faith Hill,  Whitney Houston y Jewel.
